Meet Abby Grimaldi.
Abby Grimaldi is a Christian Recording Artist & Songwriter from Grand Forks, North Dakota. Raised in a musical family, Abby developed a love for music at an early age. Playing the piano & violin, singing in choirs, & training as a dancer, Abby considers her classical upbringing to be the biggest influence on her artistry today. Raised in a Christian home, Abby discovered her second love, Jesus, at a similarly early age. While volunteering at Cooperstown Bible Camp at 15, Abby began singing, writing, & dreaming of inspiring others through Christian music.
Continuing in her classical training, Abby studied Classical Voice at the University of North Dakota, graduating with a Bachelors in Vocal Music Education in 2016. While studying at UND, Abby performed at sporting event, sang with UND’s Concert Choir, led worship, taught music to children, & competed in the Miss America Organization.
Shortly after graduating, Abby married professional hockey player, Rocco Grimaldi. Abby has since moved 25+ times, living in California, Colorado, Texas, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Tennessee, & Illinois to support her husband’s career. Wherever she’s lived, Abby’s continued to find a sense of home through music. An ever-evolving musician & hockey wife, Abby writes about the unique, yet relatable situations she experiences. From seeking hope in hard times to growing through adversity, Abby considers encouraging others through songwriting to be one of her greatest joys in life.
Influenced in early years by artists such as Sara Bareilles & Francesca Battistelli, Abby’s piano roots & “girl-power pop” vocals drive her artistry today. Continually inspired by artists such as Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Charlie Puth, & Elton John, Abby continues to evolve as an artist, predominantly influenced by music that is inventive, authentic, & pop-oriented.
Abby entered the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) industry in Nashville in early 2020, & formally launched her Christian Pop career by releasing a single, “Faith Funk” on April 2, 2021. Warmly received, it peaked at #35 on the Christian iTunes Chart & has amassed over 30,000 streams on Spotify, reaching listeners in over 100 counties. Shortly after, Abby released singles “Givin’ It Back” & “Home,” with a music video for “Home,” which was filmed in Nashville & co-starred Abby’s husband, Rocco to celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary. Abby’s 2022 release, “Better Off” has proved to be her most successful, charting in the top 50 on the Christian iTunes Chart & reaching 60,000 streams on Spotify.
Abby performs frequently in the Nashville area, & most recently performed at “Off The Charts” festival in her home state of North Dakota. Abby engages with fans on all social media platforms & is currently promoting her most recent releases, “Dreamer” the single & “Dreamer” the EP.
